The second day of the group stage of Blast Slam 7 has come to an end. Team Yandex and Team Falcons share first place in the group, while Xtreme Gaming are on the verge of elimination:
The most interesting events of the day:
- Despite the incredible performance from Kiritych on Alchemist 1x9 and two full comebacks in the match, BetBoom Team vs Team Liquid, the guys from the CIS still failed to win. The play of Liquid could not be called very high-skill, which made the defeat even more frustrating for BetBoom Team.
- Team Spirit cannot find their game, and LGD Gaming roll over them in 30 minutes, completely destroying them. They fail to crush midlaner Kez from TaiLung with the help of Beastmaster, which puts Team Spirit in a disadvantageous position, since Larl could not find impact with a late Helm of Dominator. By the way, it recently became known that it was the midlaner who took on the role of drafter after Pantomem left the team.
- The clash of the group’s mastodons, Team Falcons and Team Yandex, went evenly, although CHIRA_JUNIOR did not feel that good on Zeus, it seemed as if the hero was somewhat unfamiliar to him. However, the lanes were drafted strong, which gave the geese a small advantage. Still, Team Falcons, in their best traditions, fought for every single point of gold, thanks to which they entered the midgame in an even situation, then imposed their game and deservedly won.
- In the game PARIVISION vs BetBoom Team, the former came out on top, but that’s not what it was remembered for. Firstly, a record for map duration at a Blast tournament was set, and secondly, gpk~ inscribed his name in history by dealing a record amount of damage on Ember Spirit.
- The final game of the day, Tundra Esports vs Xtreme Gaming, was no less heated. Both teams like to play the long game, but Tundra Esports outdrafted their opponent and, having reached the power spikes on Doom and Beastmaster, went on to suffocate the enemy. The game was completely one-sided. At the 30-minute mark, Ame, while pushing out a lane, noticed the enemy position 4 and, out of despair, typed GG without even waiting for them to jump on him.
The group stage of Blast Slam 7 runs from May 26 to 29, with the 4 best teams advancing to the playoffs. After that, a Play-In will take place, the winners of which will also reach the playoffs. The playoff stage will be held on June 4–7 in Copenhagen, Denmark. The tournament’s prize pool is 1 million dollars.
