Aurora and Spirit reached the upper-bracket final of FISSURE Universe: ep.8, results of day two
The second day of the playoffs of FISSURE Universe: Episode 8 has ended; Aurora and Team Spirit reached the upper-bracket final, Team Yandex and Team Liquid dropped to the lower bracket, and strongboys and Power Rangers were eliminated from the tournament.
Due to scheduling conflicts between the WEU qualifier for PGL Wallachia Season 7 and FISSURE Universe: Episode 8, strongboys rescheduled their match against Team Spirit. However, they failed both there and here. On the 29th they lost to Pipsqueak+4 in the qualifier. On January 30 they lost to Team Spirit with a score of 0-2 and, in the very next match, were crushed by MOUZ.
For Team Spirit, the second match of the day was not a problem; they dealt with Team Liquid with a 2-1 score.
Aurora sensationally crushed Team Yandex —the winners of the most recent tournament— DreamLeague Season 27. On the first map, Team Yandex led by more than 10k gold, but a single positional mistake from watson turned the game around. Once it went late, Aurora could no longer be stopped. The second map followed the same script: Aurora, being 10k gold behind, found a good fight, took Roshan, reached the late game and finished the game.
To close out the day, BetBoom Team proved stronger than Power Rangers in three games. The decider was the most interesting one: Power Rangers seized the tempo and moved around the map better. At minute 48, the players of BetBoom Team were left in a 3 vs 5 situation, with no buybacks for gpk~ and MieRo`. Power Rangers decided to go for the Throne, but Kiritych on Gyrocopter with a Rapier wiped out the enemy team, forcing the opponents to retreat. From that moment on, the game of Power Rangers fell apart. BetBoom Team were winning every fight, and the cores of Power Rangers started to panic and buy back. At minute 64, BetBoom Team went up to the enemy high ground, and Power Rangers already lacked damage. At minute 70, the Throne of Power Rangers fell.
FISSURE Universe: Episode 8 takes place online from January 29, 2026 to February 1, 2026. The prize pool is $250,000.
