BetBoom DACHA Day 1: Secret Tie BetBoom, TSM Upset EG

The BetBoom DACHA LAN Stage is the tournament to watch right now! If you missed day one of the group stage, here's a quick recap!

Team Secret 1-1 BetBoom Team

The event started with an exciting match between Team Secret and the BetBoom Team, mainly because SumaiL is standing in for Armel in Team Secret.

We immediately saw the King get to work, as SumaiL had a fantastic performance on his iconic Storm Spirit. With the help of Puppey's KotL feeding him mana, SumaiL stomped his lane and the game with a KDA of 12/1/9 to help Secret win Game 1.

However, the BetBoom Team realized their mistake and didn't give SumaiL an excellent draft to work around. Being one of the top competitors in the tournament, the  BetBoom Team showed their potential and stomped Secret in the second game. Gpk had a great showing on his Invoker with 91% kill participation, allowing Nightfall's Bloodseeker to farm freely and help the team end the game.

Beastcoast 2-0 Nigma Galaxy

The Peruvians were tasked to play against Nigma Galaxy for their first match. After failing to qualify for The International, Nigma had to get some kind of redemption in BetBoom DACHA, but Beastcoast quickly sat them down.

The first game wasn't even close, as Beastcoast convincingly won the laning stage and carried the momentum through the game. Apart from Parker's Sven, who was busy farming, the entire Beastcoast team made great rotations around the map, giving Nigma no space to work with. Parker's Sven joined the team to end the game early at 28 minutes.

In the second game, Nigma showed some signs of life, thanks to MC's Razor, the only Nigma core having a good game. Parker's Phantom Assassin was having a good game, but Nigma won a great fight at the 32-minute mark to keep the game close. However, it turned out to be a fake comeback, as Beastcoast could close the game without too much trouble after that.

TSM 2-0 Evil Geniuses

TSM was rated one of the weaker teams in the event, but Evil Geniuses has been looking inconsistent the past few events. Still, Evil Geniuses was favored in this series.

In the first game, Bryle played exceptionally well on his Pangolier. He was running around killing everyone on the map, giving Timado's Gyrocopter more than enough space to farm. Bryle's 82% kill participation Pangolier could propel TSM to take the first map in 34 minutes easily.

Pakazs was drafted his trusty Sven in Game 2, and boy, did he have a free game. Though both teams exchanged kills evenly, at 33 minutes, Pakazs was 10,000 net worth above Timado's Faceless Void, the second most-farmed hero in the game.

The game looked good for the Evil Geniuses, as they amassed a 30,000 net worth lead at 40 minutes. However, they made the mistake of giving TSM free access to Roshan. Using the Aegis advantage, TSM took a fight at EG's Triangle and won it after EG failed to burst Timado. TSM converted the team fight victory to get Mega Creeps and ended the game shortly after. A massive comeback from the North American roster to win the series 2-0.

Gaimin Gladiators 2-0 9 Pandas

We have the infamous Quinn vs. RAMZES matchup for the last match of the day. The Gladiators had a disappointing finish in Riyadh due to exhaustion and returned to this tournament well-rested.

The first game started quite close, as Quinn and dyrachyo had a few deaths here and there, but Ace's Brewmaster was the difference maker. With Midas and Radiance, Ace took the top net worth spot in the game to carry the Gladiators to a 34-minute victory.

Game 2 was a weird one. 9 Pandas picked Terrorblade on 15th pick, but it was countered heavily by Dark Seer and Shadow Demon on the 17th and 18th pick for the Gladiators. As a result, 9 Pandas drafted Night Stalker for RAMZES, and put Antares on Terrorblade as position four. This draft adjustment did not work out, and the Gladiators could stomp the game in 23 minutes.

Tomorrow, all eight teams will play their second group stage match.
