In 2022, the competitive Dota 2 was the first by prize money played. For the year, the discipline's total prize pool was $32.1 million. The statistics came from Esports Charts, an analytics portal.
The International 11, with a prize of $18,930,775, brings about 60% of the prize money for the year in Dota 2. Even though it didn't even reach the values of 2016, it was still enough to take first place in the ranking.
Interestingly, the 2nd and 3rd places on the list are taken by 2 mobile disciplines at once – PUBG Mobile and Arena of Valor. Each of these games has an impressive fan base in Southeast Asia and China.
