DreamLeague Season 20 Tiebreakers End With EG On Top

On the 15th of June, a three-way tiebreaker between Evil Geniuses, Team Secret, and Tundra Esports was held to decide which of the three would move on to the next stage of DreamLeague Season 20.

The first match featured Tundra against Team Secret. Secret had an early lead in the game, but Tundra soon took over thanks to a great performance from their stand-in, Stanislav "Malr1ne" Potorak on Puck, who almost had a flawless game to carry Tundra with to a 1-0 standing in the tiebreakers.

With Tundra winning the first match, Evil Geniuses were up next. If Tundra wins this matchup, they will automatically qualify for the next phase of the tournament. Malr1ne went for a cheese Huskar last pick, but still got destroyed in the Mid Lane by Jean Pierre "Chris Luck" Salazar’s Shadow Fiend. The game quickly spiraled out of control for Tundra and EG were able to close the game out.

It was up to Team Secret to keep the tiebreakers going, or they and Tundra would be eliminated from the DreamLeague event. The match between EG and Secret was very close in net worth throughout most of the game, but Evil Geniuses were able to win the game-deciding team fight at the Dire Top area to close out the game. Chris Luck ended the game 21/4/9 on his Timbersaw to help EG make it to the top eight.

The second stage of the tournament, “Group Stage 2,” will include all eight remaining teams in a Round Robin group stage format. Four of the eight teams will face elimination, and the remaining teams will play in a double elimination bracket.
