EEU Qualifiers Day 3: Storm Surprise Nemiga And Send Them Packing, Virtus.Pro Survive NaVi

News

The Eastern European Qualifiers had surprises for us today. Here’s a recap of what happened!

Virtus.Pro 2-1 Natus Vincere

The first match of the day was also the most anticipated one. Virtus.Pro, the favorites to win the qualifier, took on Natus Vincere, a team facing massive improvement.

Game 1 of the series was exciting and entertaining, as both giants went head-to-head in a 71-minute game. However, Malik’s Dark Seer and mellojul’s Void Spirit had excellent performances to push NaVi through the finish line.

After losing a close first game, Virtus.Pro reset for the following games, where they stomped NaVi quickly in both games to complete the reverse sweep and move on to the Upper Bracket Final.

Natus Vincere will have a second chance in the Lower Bracket.

One Move 2-0 Hydra

One Move and Hydra is another exciting matchup. Both games looked pretty close until the mid-game, but One Move showed superiority in taking their team fights.

One Move showed great teamwork, allowing them to win fights and steal the series from Hydra convincingly. Like NaVi, Hydra isn’t eliminated yet and will be sent down to the Lower Bracket.

Storm 2-0 Nemiga Gaming

The match between Storm and Nemiga Gaming was shocking today, as the heavy underdogs won the series.

The first game was a complete stomp in favor of Storm, as they could close the game before 35 minutes with a kill score of 30-7.

The second game was about to tell a similar story, as Storm had a 21,000 net worth lead at 34 minutes and was in prime position to end the game. However, Malr1ne’s Razor didn’t want to go out of the qualifier in such a fashion and got an Ultra Kill to keep Nemiga alive.

Nemiga could bring the game back to even, prolonging the game past the 60-minute mark. After great plays from Vazya's Earthshaker, Nemiga could take out multiple Storm heroes with no buyback. With the enemy heroes dead, Nemiga heroes marched to destroy the throne, but NickyCool’s Snapfire was able to shred all Nemiga heroes with his Divine Rapier, killing them without buyback.

This window was enough for Storm to steal the game and close the series 2-0.

A 27/9/16 KDA from Malr1ne’s Razor wasn’t enough to carry Nemiga to a decider, and they have been eliminated from the EEU Qualifiers.

NAVI Junior 0-2 MoneyMakers

The final series of the day was between NAVI Junior and MoneyMakers. It was surprising that NAVI Junior made it this far in the qualifier, and the MoneyMakers fixed that by easily winning against the academy team.

MoneyMakers eliminate NAVI Junior from the qualifiers with a clean 2-0 score in the series.

Updated Brackets

The remaining teams continue to decrease, and we’re more than halfway through the Eastern European Qualifiers. The bracket looks like this:

A Grand Finalist will be determined tomorrow, and two more teams will face elimination.
