Entity Gaming Eliminate The Defending Champions From The International

Fans had high hopes for Tundra when Topson joined the team for The International. At first, Tundra was playing up to expectations, dominating their group, finishing with a 7-1 score. However, they were sent down to the Lower Bracket after a shocking 0-2 defeat against Nouns.

Meanwhile, their opponent in the Lower Bracket was Entity Gaming, a team that performed subpar in the Group Stage but lost their Upper Bracket qualification match against Azure Ray.

The two Western European teams were set to play against each other in an elimination match. Though the matchup wasn’t too heavily favored for the side of Tundra, Entity still shocked the world by winning the series 2-0.

In the first game, Tundra built up a massive advantage, being up 22,000 gold at the 16-minute mark. However, Entity executed a great team fight right after Tundra took a lane of Barracks. This fight gave Entity a way back in, and watson’s Naga Siren did not disappoint.

After winning a few fights in a row, Entity could drag the game long enough for Tundra’s heroes to fall off and run out of damage. In the end, Entity completed the comeback to be up 1-0 in the series.

Game 2 was forced to be a farm-fest, as Tundra drafted money-printing heroes like Alchemist, Doom, and Nature’s Prophet. Despite all the inflated gold, Entity could still match them in farm. The entire Entity roster played well, and they could end the game after Tundra took a disastrous fight in the mid lane.

With this result, Tundra has been eliminated from the tournament, and OG is the only team to win back-to-back TIs. Though Entity can celebrate, they must focus again as they have another elimination match against Virtus.Pro later today.
