Riyadh Masters, now rebranded to the Esports World Cup 2025, has returned for some Dota action. 16 teams compete for a share of $3,000,000 from July 8 to 19. Here’s everything you need to know about the event.
Group Stage

16 teams have been divided into four groups in your typical round-robin format.

All matches will be played in Best of 2 format.

The top team from each group advances to the Playoffs.

The 2nd place team from each group advances to the second round of the Elimination Phase.

Remaining teams from each group advance to the first round of the Elimination Phase.

Elimination Phase
The Elimination Phase will feature the idea of a gauntlet bracket.

3rd place teams will take on the 4th place teams from groups.

The winner of the initial match will face off against the 2nd place teams from groups.

Playoffs
The Playoffs of the Esports World Cup will not follow the typical double-elimination format.

The remaining teams are seeded into a single-elimination bracket.

There will be a third-place match.

All matches are played in Best of 3 format, except for the Grand Final which will be Best of 5.
