Evil Geniuses guaranteed itself a slot on The International
Ben "Noxville" Steenhuisen noted that after the fifth victory in the second season DPC: NA, the North American team Evil Geniuses became the first team in the world to guarantee itself a place in The International 10.
After the first season of the Regional League and the first Major, Evil Geniuses has 950 DPC points. Analysts had counted that only teams that earned 1056 DPC points can 100% guarantee themselves a slot on The International 10. After the fifth victory, Evil Geniuses guaranteed a place in the Top-3 of their region and would get at least 200 DPC points, which would give the result of 1150 points in total.
Note: Evil Geniuses will lose part of the points if they change the roster. Replacing one player incurs a fine of 15% of the DPC points.
In addition to Evil Geniuses, there are the closest teams to direct tickets to The International 10: Invictus Gaming — 1000 points, Team Secret — 850 points, and Virtus Pro — 1000 points. In the case of the latter, some points were received for the second season DPC: CIS. The team won 6 matches and guaranteed a place in the Top-2 of the region.
