For the first time since 2023, two SA teams reached the tier-1 tournament playoffs, results of the PGL Wallachia S8 group stage
The group stage of PGL Wallachia Season 8 has ended. Following the results of the last matches, Team Spirit, South America Rejects and Heroic advanced to the playoffs. For the first time since The International 12, two South American teams made it to the playoffs of a tier‑1 tournament.

Today’s matches turned out to be the most interesting of the entire group stage. In the first match of the day, South America Rejects and MOUZ delivered a double comeback starting from the first map. South America Rejects were leading for 39 minutes, but made a mistake when going onto the high ground and lost almost all of their advantage; however, outside of their base MOUZ were completely unable to find a good fight. South America Rejects were stronger in teamfights, and at 45 minutes MOUZ conceded. The second map was a mirror image and ended in favor of MOUZ. On the deciding map, South America Rejects played almost perfectly: the team’s cores finished with incredible stats, while MOUZ made 25 kills in total, 11 of which were on the position 5 support – elmisho.
The match between Team Spirit and Xtreme Gaming was no less exciting. The first map lasted 72 minutes. The draft of Xtreme Gaming performed much better in teamfights, while Team Spirit moved better around the map and focused on split push. The map was not the most spectacular overall, but the ending was very interesting. Yatoro on Lone Druid jumped with the Bear onto the Throne and destroyed it in just a few hits. At that moment, all five heroes of Xtreme Gaming were alive, but they could not prevent the Throne from falling due to the lack of Glyph and the presence of BKB on Yatoro. On the second map, Xtreme Gaming once again out‑drafted their opponents, but Yatoro on Faceless Void played perfectly, choosing extremely well‑timed Battle Fury and Aghanim's Scepter. By the end of the map his XPM reached a crazy 1162, and by the 35th minute he could kill any hero during a single Chronosphere.
PGL Wallachia Season 8 takes place April 18–26 in Bucharest, Romania. The tournament prize pool is 1 million dollars.
