G2.iG Win Chinese Derby Against The Elite League Champions

Two Chinese teams had to eliminate each other in the Lower Bracket of ESL One Birmingham 2024. Despite being one of the favorites to win the entire event, Xtreme Gaming’s run has been ended short by their brethren, G2.iG.

NothingToSay and the crew built a massive 30,000 net worth advantage in the first game, where their opposition could only muster 5 kills by the 35-minute mark. However, Xtreme Gaming had Zeus and Naga Siren to defend their base and shove waves indefinitely. Eventually, G2.iG made a slip-up at the 51-minute mark in a failed high-ground attempt, allowing Xtreme Gaming a way back into the game.

After regaining their footing, Ame and the team regained control over the map and took well-coordinated teamfights to comeback from what seemed to be an insurmountable deficit.  Xm's Zeus dealt over 100,000 hero damage and had a kill participation of 93%, making him this game’s MVP.

The second map was a slow burn for Xtreme Gaming. G2.iG held the lead for the entire game, but played the game slow instead of trying to end early. After a slugfest, Monet, who went 22/1/6, led his team to finally end the game after 50 minutes with the game’s kill score being 40-8.

Game 3 followed a similar narrative to the previous. It was a very passive game, but G2.iG came out on top. Monet, who was receiving a lot of criticism in the past few months, continued his impeccable performance throughout the series with a 10/0/8 KDA on his Luna to win the series.

Xtreme Gaming will book flights home, while G2.iG will play against OG in the Lower Bracket tomorrow.
