How the DPC viewing stats changed

Over the weekend, China Upper Division ended with the last competitions of all regions. On this occasion, Twitter user midormeepo decided to compare the viewing statistics for the first tours of DPC 23 and DPC 21/22.

In total for all regions, the average online growth was 17%, and the peak growth was 12%. South America showed a significant increase: its statistics more than doubled. This leap is directly related to the successful performance of its representatives at The International 11 and the appearance of famous organizations in the region. But in North America, where Evil Geniuses left, the statistics completely crashed.

In China, the peak online has fallen. Recall that recently several Chinese teams changed rosters, which may decrease fan interest in their performances. Western Europe also saw a decrease in peak numbers. Nigma Galaxy and Team Secret failed spectacularly there. The last one even left the division, ending in 7th place.

The next great event will be The Lima Major 2023, which takes place from February 22 to March 5 at Arena 1 in Lima, Peru. The best teams from the Regional Leagues will compete for a total prize pool of $500,000 and 1,900 DPC points.
