MoonMenader: “We’re f*cking bots” – Tundra Eliminated from PGL Wallachia S5
The second day of the PGL Wallachia Season 5 Playoffs has come to an end, and we bid a surprising farewell to Tundra Esports. Aurora has also been eliminated at the hands of Team Spirit. Meanwhile, Team Liquid and the Gaimin Gladiators advance to the Upper Bracket Final.
Natus Vincere 2-0 Tundra Esports
The day immediately started off with a major upset. After failing to qualify for The International 2025 and losing to low-tier stacks in the Eastern European qualifiers, Natus Vincere continue their dream run at Wallachia by sending Tundra Esports home.
Copy played exceptionally well throughout the series, especially in the second map as Storm Spirit. He seemed unkillable and bought enough space for yuragi to close the series.
Since the start of the year, Tundra Esports has finished at least 3rd place in every LAN event they’ve participated in. This loss against Natus Vincere meant they were eliminated in 7th - 8th place – the worst offline result they’ve had all year.
Coach MoonMeander was interviewed before the second game and said the following words:
“I don’t think our problems came from the drafts. The problem is that we’re f*cking bots, and the enemy knows it, they sniff it, too. They’re just like, guys, just kill them. They’re just farming – it’s Tundra. But we need to stop farming too much, sometimes.”
Team Spirit 2-0 Aurora
Mira and TORONTOTOKYO took on their former teammates, Team Spirit, in an elimination match. This series was anything but clean.
Aurora had a sizable net worth lead in the first map, but Yatoro’s Morphling was silently farming up a storm. After completing his core items, the Ukrainian carry put the team on his back, putting on a flawless performance going 14/0/8.
It really seemed like Aurora had the second game in the bag with a 20,000 net worth lead. However, in usual Team Spirit fashion, the two-time TI winners pulled off a massive comeback after winning the final teamfight to send Aurora packing.
Gaimin Gladiators 2-0 Xtreme Gaming
The Gaimin Gladiators continued their hot streak at Wallachia by taking down the last Chinese representatives at the event.
Despite the Gladiators being down 9,000 gold on the first map, watson destroyed Xtreme Gaming with an off-meta Phantom Lancer pick – a hero we haven’t seen played professionally in a very long time. He carried the game going 9/1/8.
The second game was easy work for the Gaimin Gladiators, who maintained the net worth lead throughout the entire game to close the series 2-0.
Team Liquid 2-1 BetBoom Team
After three clean sweeps, we were finally treated to a close series to end the day.
After Team Liquid easily won the first map, the second was particularly interesting with a back-and-forth affair. After several net worth changes, Pure’s unorthodox carry Leshrac helped the BetBoom Team cross the finish line, winning the map in 50 minutes. However, credit must be awarded to gpk~’s Puck who finished the map 13/3/14.
Still, the BetBoom Team’s efforts were in vain, as Team Liquid could seal the series 2-1 in their favor after a convincing decider.
With Insania back on the helm, Team Liquid are returning to PGL Wallachia form. The boys in blue are looking to defend their title after lifting the Season 3 and 4 trophies.
PGL Wallachia Season 5 is an offline tournament taking place from June 21 to 29. 16 teams compete for a share of $1,000,000.
