Nigma and OG are eliminated from ESL One Germany 2020
The third day of the ESL One Germany 2020 playoff has ended, and today the first lower bracket games took place. According to the matches' results, ??Nigma and ??OG left the tournament, taking 7-8 places and earning $12,000 each. Before starting the playoff, no one could have imagined that these teams would fight in the lower bracket's first round.
Nigma vs. Team Liquid
The game day opened with a match between ??Nigma and ??Team Liquid. Before the match, ??Nigma was the favorite. Despite the weak play in the group stage, they showed how they could play, winning one map from Team Secret in the playoff's upper bracket. ??Team Liquid, in turn, had no chance in the match with mudgolems and lost with a 2:0 score. The face-to-face confrontation between ??Nigma and ??Team Liquid can note the excellent play of Liquid on the second map. The team took the combination pick and showed its potential!
??Nigma lost the third map at the draft stage. As a result, Team Liquid moves on, and Nigma leaves the tournament.
OG vs. Alliance
Unlike the first match, analysts could not single out a favorite in the pair ??OG and ??Alliance. Both teams played well in the group stage but lost to weaker opponents in the playoff. On the first map, ??OG chose an unclear pick, which is remembered only by this moment:
On the second map, ??OG took an even weirder pick, choosing Skywrath Mage for ??Topson, and, of course, it didn't bring any positive results. ??Alliance moves on, and ??OG is eliminated from the tournament.
