Not One Step Back Disqualified From Division II For Unsportsmanlike Behavior

Paragon Events, known for hosting the Eastern European DPC, made a massive announcement through their Telegram channel. Paragon has investigated a player for their unsportsmanlike behavior.

The player in question is Kohxi, playing in team Not One Step Back. Investigations suggest that Kohxi intentionally fed his hero at the end of a match to make the final kill score end on an even number.

Paragon's statement on the situation is as follows:

“WE HAVE RECEIVED POSSIBLE UNSPORTSMANLIKE BEHAVIOR BY A PLAYER OF THE TEAM, NOT ONE STEP BACK – KOHXI. DURING THE MATCH BETWEEN ESPORTS CLUB GROZNY AND ALIS VENTORUS HELD ON AUGUST 3, 2022, AS PART OF EPL S2, THIS PLAYER INTENTIONALLY LET HIS HERO DIE FOR THE FINAL SCORE TO BECOME EVEN.

IN ADDITION, THE FACT OF THE SALE OF ACCOUNTS WAS CONFIRMED BY ANOTHER PLAYER OF THE TEAM, NOT ONE STEP BACK - B4X4ZZZ.”

You might be thinking; this event happened last year. Why is it relevant now? Kohxi, along with Not One Step Back, have qualified for Division II of the Eastern Europe region and intended to compete in the tournament for the next few weeks. However, Paragon has forwarded this investigation to Valve, and Not One Step Back has been disqualified from the second division.

Matreshka Team, who finished third place in the closed qualifiers, will replace them and compete for a spot in the upper division of the Eastern Europe region. Paragon also sends their regards to Nemiga Gaming’s team manager zverHDD for his assistance in the investigation.
