The first day of the second group stage of DreamLeague Season 28 has ended. Team Falcons, Team Liquid and Aurora pulled ahead, finishing the day with a 2-0 map score:
Results of the day:
- Today the favorites won all the matches. Xtreme Gaming showed their now classic suspicious Chinese Dota, losing to Team Liquid in 20 and 30 minutes.
- MOUZ were the only underdogs who put up a fight against the favorites. The Mice have been very inconsistent in the groups: they crushed Team Falcons 2-0, but played to draws against the underdogs who, by today, had already been eliminated from the tournament, so they can quite easily become the dark horse of the event.
- The showdown between Aurora and PARIVISION was also telling, since yesterday the mid of the latter team stated that he does not consider the stand-in mid for Aurora, lorenof, to be a strong midlaner, showing respect only to such mids as Nisha and gpk~. Separately, it is worth discussing the offlaners of the teams: according to the players of PARIVISION themselves, SSS has blended into the team very well and is showing good results, but the statistics of the last match say otherwise: the position-three player even managed to die to Roshan on the first map. And he was not the only one playing chaotically: 9Class accidentally destroyed the Aegis of the Immortal, and Satanic tilted and called GG immediately after his death. As for the offlaner of Aurora, surprisingly he is still being given his two most stable heroes, Largo and Timbersaw, on which he can comfortably carry the game.
- BetBoom Team are in really bad shape. They were swept 2-0 by Team Falcons, showing both incoherent drafts and a weak level of play. The return of Boolk has not benefited them.
The second group stage of DreamLeague Season 28 takes place from February 20 to 28. Based on its results, the four best teams will advance to the playoffs, which will run from February 28 to March 1. The tournament's prize pool is 1 million dollars and EPT points, which are needed to receive direct invitations to other ESL tournaments, including Esports World Cup 2026.
