Dota 2
Published at: 2020-07-16 09:58:09

In the Dota 2 client, patch 7.27b was released, which introduced a large number of changes to the game balance. In this article, we have compiled a list of non-meta heroes that received good boosts. Many PRO-teams should pay attention to them.

Sven

List of changes:

  • Base movement speed increased from 315 to 325
  • Stormhammer dispel talent is now able to target Cyclone'd units and dispels it off
  • Warcry no longer provides 12/16/20/24 bonus damage
  • Warcry movement speed is now provided for allies as well
  • Warcry movement speed bonus reduced from 10/14/18/22 to 8/12/16/20
  • Warcry manacost reduced from 60 to 30/40/50/60

When analyzing, it can be seen that the hero received an excellent increase of the ultimate: now, when activated, he deals more damage. Also, the duration of the ultimate increased by 15 seconds, and Warcry gives a bonus to teammates' movement speed.

It is definitely a useful boost that can bring the hero back to the PRO-scene because, in the last three months, he was so weak that he was picked only 27 times, and the Win Rate was only 37%.

Chaos knight

List of changes:

  • Chaos Strike now has a 30% chance to proc instead of using a cooldown
  • Phantasm cooldown reduced from 125 to 75
  • Phantasm illusion count reduced from 3 to 1/2/3
  • Phantasm illusion outgoing damage increased from 40/70/100% to 100%
  • Phantasm illusions no longer have an extra 25% magic resistance
  • Phantasm manacost reduced from 125/200/275 to 75/125/175
  • Level 15 Talent increased from +12% Cooldown Reduction to +14%
  • Level 25 Talent changed from +1.5 Max Chaos Bolt Duration to +1s Min/Max Chaos Bolt Duration
  • Level 25 Talent changed from -1.5s Chaos Strike Cooldown to +10% Chaos Strike Chance

It was removed the cooldown for Chaos Strike and also almost halved the cooldown of the ultimate. Combined with talent buffs, he will almost always be able to activate it.

Much work has been done on the hero, and most likely, many teams will start using him as a Carry. Over the past three months, he was picked only 41 times.

Magnus

List of changes:

  • Empower damage rescaled from 10/15/20/25% to 11/18/25/32%
  • Shockwave slow increased from 60% to 75%
  • Skewer cooldown reduced from 26/24/22/20 to 22/20/18/16
  • Skewer radius increased from 135 to 145
  • Level 10 Talent changed from +15 Attack speed to +20 Damage
  • Level 15 Talent increased from +100 Shockwave Damage to +140

Each hero's ability, except for the ultimate, received a buff from 10 to 30%. Taken together, this gives an excellent boost to its efficiency.

This hero with a powerful massive ultimate, and the changes can return to the meta. It is universal and can be used in any position if desired. Over the past three months, the hero has picked only 68 times, and his Win Rate was 45%.

Omniknight

List of changes:

  • Base movement speed increased from 300 to 305
  • Purification cast range increased from 400 to 550
  • Degen aura no longer reduces attack speed
  • Degen aura radius increased from 300 to 375
  • Level 20 Talent increased from -10% Degen Aura to -15%
  • Level 20 Talent changed from +3 Mana Regen to -3s Heavenly Grace Cooldown
  • Level 25 Talent changed from -6.5s Heavenly Grace Cooldown to -60s Guardian Angel Cooldown

The main boost of the hero is the change in talent at level 25. Reducing the ultimate cooldown by 60 seconds, combined with Aghanim, can complicate the opposing team's life.

In this form, the hero can be used for matches designed for a long game. Over the past three months, the hero was picked 33 times and had a Win Rate of 33%.

Underlord

List of changes:

  • Attack range increased from 150 to 175
  • Atrophy Aura no longer provides permanent bonus damage
  • Atrophy Aura creep death damage rescaled from 5 to 4/5/6/7
  • Atrophy Aura damage duration increased from 30/40/50/60 to 30/45/60/75
  • Firestorm cast point reduced from 0.6 to 0.5
  • Firestorm AoE increased from 400 to 400/430/460/490
  • Firestorm debuff no longer ignores Ancients (still ignores Roshan)
  • Pit of Malice cooldown reduced from 22/20/18/16 to 18/17/16/15
  • Level 10 Talent changed from +20 Movement Speed to +5 Armor
  • Level 10 Talent changed from +14 Firestorm Wave Damage to +12% Magic Resistance
  • Level 15 Talent changed from +5 Atrophy Permanent Bonus Damage to -3s Firestorm Cooldown
  • Level 15 Talent changed from +175 Cast Range to +100 Pit of Malice AoE

The hero received a large number of enhancements. Considering everything as the whole, now he can even apply for the position of a Carry.

Over the past three months, the hero hasn't been popular: he was picked 246 times during this time, and his Win Rate was 42%.

It is also worth noting that Valve completely ignored Tinker, given that the hero was picked only 24 times in the last 3 months.

In this article, we take a look at the heroes of the meta who got a nerf. PRO-teams may even wholly stop picking some of them.
