Shopify Rebellion is the second team to be sent home from the DreamLeague Season 22 Second Group Stage. During the day, Team Falcons had their perfect run shattered by Team Aurora. The Gladiators defeated OG in the Western European derby, and Team Spirit survived for another day after taking down the BetBoom Team.

BetBoom Team 1-2 Team Spirit

The first map of the series was a banger match to start the series. Team Spirit took an early lead after shutting down Nightfall’s Faceless Void in the laning stage, killing him three times. However, the BetBoom Team found a good team fight in the Mid Lane to pull ahead. At the 52-minute mark, the bookies failed to win the game-winning fight, allowing Team Spirit a way back in. Eventually, the BetBoom Team could still close the map, but it took them 74 minutes to do so.

In the following two maps, Team Spirit outclassed the BetBoom Team not only in the drafting stage but also in execution. The TI winners could pick up a much-needed win after reverse-sweeping the series. They would have been eliminated from the tournament if they had lost this match.

Team Aurora 1-2 Team Falcons

Team Falcons faced the weakest team in the Group Stage, Team Aurora, who had already been eliminated and had nothing to play for. Still, the Southeast Asian guys managed to steal the first map, breaking the Falcons’ 10-0 streak.

The MENA-backed squad was not happy and stomped the next two games to win the series and go 6-0 in the Group Stage, securing the first Playoffs spot.

Gaimin Gladiators 2-1 OG

The first map of the series was very competitive, with the game being dead even until the 40-minute mark. However, the Major winners were able to execute better fights in the late game, outclassing the new OG roster and winning the first game.

In the second map, Quinn went for his cheeky Huskar pick, but at the 18th pick instead of the 23rd. OG replied with a Leshrac for bzm, which turned out to be the right call. Despite an early lead for the Gladiators, OG bounced back after hitting their key timings, winning the map at 35 minutes.

OG went back for a Mirana pick on the hands of bzm, and an Off Lane Rubick for Wisper. Though these picks have worked in the past, they did not against an experienced squad like the Gaimin Gladiators. Quinn and Ace had free games, carrying the Gladiators to a 2-1 victory.

Shopify Rebellion 1-2 Xtreme Gaming

In the final series of the day, Shopify Rebellion played a match that could have resulted in their elimination, which it did.

Another position five Terrorblade pick was shown, this time in the hands of Dy. Arteezy’s Arc Warden pick was doing fine, finding lots of farm and having thousands of net worth over the enemy carry. However, the remaining members of Shopify Rebellion were getting picked off left and right, ultimately allowing Xtreme Gaming to win the game.

In the second game, Yopaj had a last-pick Death Prophet, which ended up dominating the game. The Filipino went 13/1/7 to force a GG call from Xtreme Gaming in only 22 minutes.

Sadly, their Game 2 victory was only false hope. The third map was dominated by the Chinese side, with all three cores only having one death each. It only took Xtreme Gaming 38 minutes to force Shopify Rebellion to tap out in their elimination game.

It could be a notable factor that Shopify Rebellion had to play most of their matches late at night, as they often had the schedule of the last match in many days.

Two teams have been eliminated from the tournament, while Team Falcons secured Playoffs:

The final day of the second Group Stage is coming, with four teams tied at three points – a decent potential for some tiebreakers. Two more teams will be eliminated.
