Shopify Rebellion Pulled Off An Impossible Comeback Against The Gladiators, Putting Them 1-2

Day 2 of the second group stage of DreamLeague Season 22 has ended, with Team Falcons and the BetBoom Team maintaining an undefeated streak. On the other hand, the Gaimin Gladiators and OG sit 0-2, tied for last place.

BetBoom Team 2-1 Xtreme Gaming

The BetBoom Team continued their reign at DreamLeague after taking down Xtreme Gaming, the first-place finishers in the opposite group.

In the first map, the BetBoom Team came out on top of the laning stage, but Ame's inflated net worth on Alchemist made the game seem close. XinQ on Nyx Assassin went for an all-in Dagon build and managed to solo kill Nightfall's Terrorblade while he was farming ancients.

A massive team fight occurred at the 39th-minute mark, with the BetBoom Team taking it convincingly. Surprisingly, Xtreme Gaming heroes had no buyback, allowing Nightfall and company to end the game straight up.

Xtreme Gaming did not let their Game 1 loss slide and turned up in the second map. The Chinese side utterly dominated the game, winning it in 27 minutes, whereas the BetBoom Team only managed four kills in total.

The third map was a complete farmfest and wasn't all too interesting. The BetBoom Team managed to get numerous pickoffs on Xtreme Gaming heroes and eventually hit their timings earlier to win the game at 35 minutes.

Team Falcons 2-0 OG

ATF finally had a chance to play against his former teammates, Ceb and bzm

OG approached the first game's draft by banning out Ammar heroes but let Malr1ne's Huskar slip through. The Falcons midlaner could replicate his Huskar performance from yesterday and close out the first map against OG in 25 minutes.

The second map was very chaotic and action-packed. OG had an early-centric draft with Lifestealer, Leshrac, and Mars. However, Team Falcons played for the late-game scaling with Naga Siren and Doom.

At the 50-minute mark, OG felt the need to close the game and came knocking on the Falcon's high ground. Though OG killed off numerous heroes on the Falcons side, bzm got caught and died with no buyback. The Falcons went for an all-in play on OG's throne, which proved successful.

Team Spirit 2-1 Team Aurora

The defending DreamLeague champions have not been looking so great and were tested by Team Aurora. Fortunately, Team Spirit could still grab the victory.

Team Spirit started the series slow and was stomped by Team Aurora in 38 minutes. The Eastern European squad had nothing going for them, only managing six kills on the first map. Lorenof, on Puck, played lights-out with a 10/0/7 KDA.

The second map was a very passive game, with both teams farming and occasionally finding pickoffs here and there. When Yatoro obtained his core items on Morphling, the Spirit side began ramping up. After a convincing team fight victory, Team Spirit snowballed their lead to win the game.

Team Aurora was off to a flying start in the decider map, winning the laning stage and building an early advantage. However, Yatoro on Lifestealer said hold my beer and took control of the game. Team Spirit eventually won the game-deciding fight, taking the series 2-1.

Shopify Rebellion 2-1 Gaimin Gladiators

The final series of the day featured an improving Shopify Rebellion and a degrading Gaimin Gladiators squad.

The Gladiators had the confidence to go for an unorthodox pick, Arc Warden on dyrachyo, not a hero-player pairing you see every day. Despite having a 6,000 net worth lead at the 17-minute mark, the Gladiators lost control after Yopaj's Templar Assassin and Arteezy's Windranger were set free. Thanks to a clean performance from Shopify's cores, they could steal the first map.

There was no more playing around for the Gladiators in the second map. The game started relatively even, but after a string of misplays and mistakes, Shopify Rebellion lost their footing and conceded in 36 minutes.

Map 3 of the series was, hands down, one of the most entertaining matches in this DreamLeague season so far. Despite a few hiccups, the three-time Major winners looked like they had the third game in the bag.

However, a disastrous high-ground attempt led to Quinn and dyrachyo buying back and dying a second time. Arteezy and Yopaj could run down mid and immediately end the game while the Gladiators' cores were down with no buybacks. A massive throw.

With these results, the bracket has developed into this:

DreamLeague Season 22 runs from February 25 to March 10. Eight teams remain, and four competitors will be eliminated after the second group stage ends.
