CIS teams in their prime, results of the first day of the DreamLeague 29 playoffs

The first day of the DreamLeague 29 playoffs has come to an end, Team Falcons, PARIVISION, Team Spirit and Aurora secured top-6 and still have a margin for error. The losing teams will fight tomorrow to avoid elimination from the tournament with 5th–6th places in the groups.

The most interesting events of the day:

• Tundra Esports leave much to be desired in the first DreamLeague 29 playoff match and lose to Team Falcons. Signature Puck for Bzm and Doom for 33 did not save them from defeat on the first map, although they helped the team hang on a bit longer. On the second map, Team Falcons continued their early domination; with Tinker, Tundra Esports managed to hang on for almost a full hour, but defeat was inevitable.
• PARIVISION, not without effort, dealt with Team Liquid, ending their winless streak against this team. The first map went under the control of PARIVISION; Leshrac from No[o]ne- did not leave the opponents a chance, snowballing a huge advantage early in the game. The second map was also going under the dictation of the CIS team, but a single mistake from PARIVISION allowed Team Liquid to completely seize the initiative; once their cores got their items, they closed out the map with a win, coming back into the game despite a 28k gold lead on the enemy side. On the third map, PARIVISION again dominated the early game, but this time they did not take risks and finished the game in a disciplined, textbook manner, securing the victory in the series.
• Team Spirit are feeling great with the new position four and completely outclass BetBoom Team in this matchup. The first map was even: Spirit were waiting for their key items, while BetBoom Team tried to build up an advantage. Once the Spirit cores got the items they needed, Spirit found a perfect fight at minute 34 that tipped the scales in their favor, and after that they never let go of the game and closed it out. On the second map there were virtually no signs of life from BetBoom Team; Team Spirit started dominating early and ended it in 30 minutes.
• Born to win drop the series to Aurora, despite a very promising start. On the first map, Nightfall and his team could not get anything going; NaVi were finding great pickoffs and confidently pushed through to take the first map without issues. On the second map, Natus Vincere decided to bet on late game and were wrong: the opening went completely sideways, and afterwards NaVi simply couldn’t find enough damage on the enemy heroes and had to go to a third map. After the second map, Natus Vincere decided they didn’t want to play for the late game anymore and drafted heroes for early dominance, but they still couldn’t recover from the loss on the second map; Aurora imposed their own style of Dota and took the deciding map without resistance.

DreamLeague 29 is held online from May 13 to 24 with a prize pool of 1 million dollars. DreamLeague 29 is the final tournament of the EPT season, after which invites to the Esports World Cup 2026 will be issued.
