Spirit, Xtreme and Tundra did not make the BLAST Slam VI playoffs
The play-in stage of Blast Slam VI has concluded. Team Yandex, Team Falcons, Heroic and Team Liquid advanced to the playoffs. Team Spirit, Xtreme Gaming, Tundra Esports and GamerLegion have been eliminated from the tournament.
All the matches were one-sided and ended with a 2-0 score. Team Spirit, playing without Larl and Silent, were completely unable to oppose Team Yandex, whom they had recently defeated in the lower-bracket final of FISSURE Universe: Episode 8. Heroic sensationally defeated the five-time BLAST Slam champions, Tundra Esports. On the first map, Pure picked Slark for himself, buying Hand of Midas, Disperser and Octarine Core. Tundra Esports planned to drag the game into hyper late game, but Heroic seized control from the first minutes and held it throughout the entire game. Around the 50-minute mark, Tundra Esports had chances for a comeback. Because of the huge amount of HP on Tundra Esports’ heroes, Heroic couldn’t win a 5v5 teamfight. At 56 minutes, they decided to go for the Ancient. Not a single hero died, and Tundra Esports’ Ancient fell. On the second map, Heroic crushed Tundra Esports with a 36-11 score. The MVP of the series was TaiLung, who finished with KDA scores of 12/1/11 and 18/0/15.

The Blast Slam VI playoffs will take place on February 13–15 in Malta, with all matches played in a bo5 format. The tournament’s prize pool is $1 million.
