Talon Recovers From Traumatic Experience, Sends Home 9 Pandas

Just the other day, it looked like Talon Esports would make history in Riyadh by eliminating Team Liquid. However, an early celebration and unnecessary Glyph from 23savage cost them the game; one of the most embarrassing ways to lose a game.

Though they had gotten a full day to recover and mentally reset, many fans were still concerned on whether 23savage and the team could recover from an experience like this. Well, we got the answer today, as Talon Esports completely demolished 9 Pandas and keep their tournament hopes alive.

The man in question was dragged in for a post-game interview, where he learned his lesson and showed less emotion than in his early celebration. 23savage was asked for his thoughts on the tough loss yesterday, in which he replied:

“I don’t care about what other people think, I just care about my family and my loved ones. Nothing can make me feel sad.”

Talon Esports finished top three in the Lima Major, and hadn’t had another deep run until this one at the Riyadh Masters. 23savage claims that his team has become much better now than they were in Lima, and they can beat any team now.

“We play the lanes better now. I really believe in me and Oli’s lane. I think we just trust each other way more. This time, it feels like we can beat any team. It’s different from last time.”

Talon Esports outclassed 9 Pandas in every way possible. The first game took the Southeast Asian team some time to close out, but the second one was a total clean sweep. In the second game, kiyotaka tried to put up a show with a Diffusal Blade Ember Spirit to counter 23savage’s Medusa, but this purchase delayed his items and he couldn’t buy a purge to Mikoto’s Orchid Malevolence and fed off multiple kills.

Sadly, 9 Pandas will be leaving the Riyadh Masters in a respectable 5th-6th place finish, taking home $800,000. Meanwhile, Talon will have a date against the reigning champions, Gaimin Gladiators later today.
