Team Spirit and BB Team Lock In First Playoff Spots at EWC 2025
The results of Group A and B have been determined, with Team Spirit and BetBoom Team topping their respective groups. Tomorrow, Group C and D will be wrapped up.
To start the day, Team Spirit took on Natus Vincere, where both teams had 3-1 records. However, Team Spirit easily took the series with a very clean 2-0 sweep. This result meant the two-time TI winners finished the group stage with a 5-1 record to secure a Playoffs spot.
Meanwhile, Xtreme Gaming and Talon Esports tied their matchup, resulting in both teams finishing 2-4 in the first phase. The two Asian teams will start the Elimination Stage with a lower seed, while Natus Vincere (3 wins) can skip the first round.
In Group B, the BetBoom Team survived a potential upset from Execration, taking the series 2-0. With this victory, the BetBoom Team finished their group stage campaign with a 5-1 record to end in first place, joining Team Spirit as the first two teams in the Playoffs.
The Gaimin Gladiators and Team Falcons drew their series. By taking a map, the Gaimin Gladiators avoided a tiebreaker situation against Team Falcons to seal the group.
With these results, no tiebreakers were required today. The final day of the group stage ends tomorrow, with Group C and D.
