Team Spirit Pull Off Miraculous Comeback to Qualify For Playoffs
The first meaningful day of the PGL Wallachia Season 5 tournament has ended, with two teams qualifying for the Playoffs with a 3-0 record, while two unfortunate ones were eliminated with 0-3 scores.
Team Spirit highlight the day with an impeccable comeback in the decisive map against Natus Vincere. The former were down 20,000 gold and had their backs against the wall against Mega Creeps. Natus Vincere went for an all-in throne play, but Team Spirit’s Ancient survived with a mere 100 HP.
Yatoro’s Muerta picked up a Divine Rapier and denied Natus Vincere's entry from his base. After a string of successful teamfights, Team Spirit, in their typical fashion, completed an insane turnaround to comeback from a near-impossible deficit and qualified for the Playoffs.
The Gaimin Gladiators join Team Spirit in the Playoffs after a clean 2-0 against Aurora. The Western European squad ended their group stage campaign without dropping a single map.
Nigma Galaxy took on Virtus.pro in the 0-2 pool. The MENA roster survived the series after a 2-1 scoreline to eliminate their opposition from the event.
The second team to receive the short end of the stick was AVULUS, who failed to defeat Heroic in the elimination series. Fly and the boys once again face a disappointing result.
PGL Wallachia Season 5 is an offline event that will run from June 21 to 29. 16 teams compete for a prize pool of $1,000,000.
