The student surpassed the teacher: Satanic sent Yatoro to the lower bracket at DreamLeague S29
The penultimate day of the playoffs of DreamLeague 29 has come to an end. Only CIS teams remain in the tournament. PlayTime and Team Falcons left the tournament, taking 5th-6th and 4th places respectively:
PlayTime earned the status of crowd favorites thanks to their powerful breakthrough. During the tournament, the guys went from underdogs to strong opponents, but such a well-coordinated and stable team as Team Falcons proved too tough for them:
Nevertheless, the Peruvians put up a fight. The first map saw as many as 130 kills and lasted almost 100 minutes! The turning point came when the Falcons defended their base using buybacks, and then forced PlayTime to spend 4 buybacks:
Team Falcons took advantage of this, caught up with and overtook their opponents in gold and closed out the map. The second map was also memorable for its comebacks, albeit not as spectacular. The perseverance of the Peruvians and their drive to win impressed many – even being 53 thousand gold behind, they didn’t give up. For the guys, 5th-6th place is already a decent success, but it’s clear they were aiming higher.
Team Spirit and PARIVISION drew on the first two maps, both of which ended in 20 minutes. Everything was decided on the third. Satanic has repeatedly said that he is proud of his teammate Kez and considers him one of the best, and today he confirmed this by defeating his teacher. It’s also worth mentioning that Noticed looks great in the new team, while rue in the hard five position isn’t shining as brightly yet as he did on position four. As a result of the match, PARIVISION became the first finalists of DreamLeague 29:
The day ended with the match between Aurora and Team Falcons. In a record 23 minutes, Aurora demolished their opponents on the first map; only PARIVISION, already waiting for the other teams in the final, have finished games faster. Nightfall currently tops the list of the tournament’s best players by KDA (7.58 over 27 maps), which speaks to his excellent form. The second map also didn’t prove difficult; here’s the crushing fight that broke out on the river, from which only ATF managed to escape:
Thus, the series ended 2-0, and tomorrow Aurora will face Team Spirit for the right to reach the final:
DreamLeague 29 takes place online from May 13 to 24 with a prize pool of 1 million dollars. DreamLeague 29 is the final tournament of the EPT season, after which invites to the Esports World Cup 2026 will be issued.
