Valve has posted new DPC rules for the 2021/2022 season on their website. As expected, we will have 3 league seasons and 3 majors. Also, the method of distributing qualification points has been changed, and the date of transfers’ end was announced.

General rules

DPC season main rules remain unchanged: 96 participants from 6 regions compete in regional leagues for cash prizes, qualification points, and a trip to the majors. The prize pools for the regional leagues and the majors are unchanged. Each league has $280,000, and each major has $500,000. The order of moving between upper and lower divisions also remains the same.

Order of the majors

The upcoming DPC season has an unchanged major entry order. As usual, 18 teams participate in each major. Current slot distribution:

  • Europe and China — 4 slots each;
  • The CIS and South East Asia — 3 slots each;
  • North America and South America — 2 slots each.

Changes

Compared to the previous season, there will be 3 competitive rounds instead of 2, including the regional league season and the majors. Schedule:

  • Fall League: November 29 – January 23;
  • First Major: February 17-27;
  • Winter League: March 14 – April 24;
  • Second Major: May 11-21;
  • Spring League: June 6 – July 17;
  • Third Major: August 4-14.

DPC Points

The total number of points earned in the regional leagues and the majors have changed. The first competitive round will now bring fewer points than the third. The distribution is as follows: 690/920/1150 for regional leagues and 1900/2700/3500 for the majors.

Transfer windows closing

The transfer windows’ closing date has been announced. For the first season, it is November 21. On this date, all teams who have saved slots have to register their rosters on the official team website from Valve.

For the new season, teams can eliminate players after the league ends and until the first Tuesday after a major, and add players until Sunday. It is so that players have the opportunity to find new teams.
