The Dota 2 developer has announced the cancellation of the first Major of DPC 2021/2022. Information about this appeared on the official website of Valve.

Valve states that the reason for this decision was a new wave of coronavirus infection. Because of this, organizers can't get the teams in one place for a LAN tournament. Since there won't be a Winter Major, the winter competition season ends with the DPC Regional Leagues.

Points initially designed to prizes in the first Major now go to the remaining 2. The distribution is now as follows:

    Spring Major:

    • First place — 520 points
    • Second place — 310 points
    • Third place — 210 points
    • Fourth place — 105 points
    • Fifth place — 52 points

    Summer Major:

    • First place — 680 points
    • Second place — 410 points
    • Third place — 270 points
    • Fourth place — 135 points
    • Fifth place — 68 points

The first Major of the current competition season had to be on February 17-27 in LAN format. The second Major is scheduled for May 11-21, while the third — for August 4-14.
