The first day of the playoffs PGL Wallachia Season 5 has come to an end. As a result, Gaimin Gladiators, Xtreme Gaming, Team Liquid and BetBoom Team advance to the upper bracket, while Tundra Esports, Natus Vincere, Aurora and Team Spirit are one step away from being eliminated from the tournament.

Today we saw the el-classico: the match Tundra Esports against Gaimin Gladiators. Before the game, the midlaner of Gaimin Gladiators, Quinn, stated:

"We rested for two days, so today we will be cooking. We will put Tundra Esports in the pot, make stew out of them and just eat them. It will be a real treat, the belly will approve".

However, the first map went to Tundra Esports, the team chose proven heroes that synergized well with each other, which cannot be said about the draft of Gaimin Gladiators. Despite this, the second map was under the control of the team Quinn. On the third, a serious battle unfolded, as a result of which, thanks to a successful Rebond from tOfu, Gaimin Gladiators managed to win the fight and turn the game around:

The game ended with a score of 2-1. For the first time since the departure of dyrachyo Gaimin Gladiators managed to win against Tundra Esports.

The series Xtreme Gaming against Natus Vincere was also not without unexpected turns. The third map stands out in particular. Throughout the game, the team was spacing Ame with varying success. However, the key was the fight on the river with 8 buybacks:

Team Liquid defeated Aurora after three maps. Recall that in the group stage, as the fifth position of the team was Tobi, iNSaNiA was forced to miss the first stage of the tournament for reasons that are not disclosed. However, his return noticeably strengthened the team and allowed them to win this confrontation.

"The first game was simple: both in draft and played well. In the second, the draft was weaker, they stood better on the lanes, and then it became very difficult to play with Chen when three lanes were lost. The third map, I think, was even until a certain point, they had good heroes to create tempo and pressure, there were fights where we could catch and turn the game around, but Ember Spirit survived a couple of times with 100 hp and killed everyone".

Finally, the long-awaited CIS derby took place. Many predicted Team Spirit to win the series, but no one expected BetBoom Team to close them with a score of 2-0.
