Zayac will go to EWC, he will replace sayw in L1GA
The roster of L1ga Team has changed ahead of one of the main tournaments of the year. The club officially announced that at the Esports World Cup 2026 a stand-in will play for the team, namely the Kyrgyz support player Zayac.
Instead of Sayuw at the tournament in France, Zayac will play, who previously represented Virtus.pro, Team Secret and Natus Vincere. The organization cited health issues of Sayuw as the reason for the replacement.
For Zayac, this is a return to a major tournament after leaving Natus Vincere, which happened at the end of March 2026. He spent almost three years in the organization, having joined the main roster at the end of 2023 after playing for NAVI Junior, and during this time helped the team reach the tier‑1 level. However, the end of his career with the "born to win" turned out to be unexpected.
The midlaner of Natus Vincere Niku revealed in an interview with Ghostik the reasons behind the decision to replace Zayac with Daze. According to him, about 3–4 months before the kick, Zayac stopped performing the functions of captain and drafter, becoming just a player. “As a player he is not top‑tier. He had already passed on all his knowledge to us. His only remaining strong side was good replay analysis, but in everything else he no longer stood out,” said Niku.
With Natus Vincere, Zayac took second place at Blast Slam 6 and fourth place at PGL Wallachia Season 2, and in 2025 he played together with the team at The International 2025 and Esports World Cup 2025.
Thus, at the Esports World Cup 2026 the following players will represent L1ga Team:
The championship itself will take place in Paris from July 6 to 18, with a prize pool of 2 million dollars for the discipline, and 24 teams will participate. L1ga Team ended up in Group B together with Team Liquid, Aurora, Nigma Galaxy and other opponents.
