EEU Is The Strongest Region? Virtus.Pro Is The Third EEU Team To Secure Top Eight
Virtus.Pro, a team with minimal success in international events throughout the year, has suddenly turned up at The International. After a close loss to Team Spirit in the Upper Bracket, Virtus.Pro has defeated Entity Gaming to advance to the final week of The International.
In the first map, Kiritych displayed a masterclass performance on Templar Assassin, thanks to the support from the entire Virtus.Pro roster. The EEU roster had firm control over the entire game and could close it after 61 minutes of play.
The next game was simply an outdraft, as Virtus.Pro could stomp Entity in only 29 minutes. The map ended with a kill score of 25-5, no mercy shown.
With this result, three out of four Eastern European teams secured a top-eight finish, making EEU the highest population amongst the remaining teams. Team Liquid and Gaimin Gladiators represent Western Europe, while LGD Gaming and Azure Ray represent China.
Unfortunately, Virtus.Pro is tasked with yet another Eastern European derby, this time against the BetBoom Team. Their match will be an elimination match, but two EEU teams are guaranteed to finish in the top six.
