Our crew is on site for Games of the Future 2024. We got to ask JT from G2.IG about his experience in the tournament. The interview was conducted before the third-place decider match against BOOM Esports.

Q: What were the reasons for your loss against LGD Gaming?

A: I think we did not prepare well for this tournament, so we deserve this loss.

Q: Did you get a chance to visit Kazan to see things in the city?

A: Not sure, if we have time, we will visit the city. I think it’s very nice, so I hope we get the chance to.

Q: What can you say about Kazan and the snow in the city?

A: Because I’m Malaysian, there’s only hot weather and no snow or cold weather. So I’m happy to be here and experience the cold weather which is kind of nice.

Q: Games of the Future is a new tournament. What was your reaction to getting an invitation to this tournament?

A: I hope there are more tournaments like this. I’m quite excited to be invited to this event, so I hope there are more events like this coming for the rest of the year.

Q: How would you rate the overall skill level of Games of the Future? Is it high or low?

A: I think it’s not bad, but it still can still be higher and improved.

Q: The organizers said the tournament was gaining millions and millions of viewers on Chinese networks. Do you think Games of the Future has a lot of interest from China?

A: I think it’s popular because all the streamers are co-streaming the matches. For example, Somnus and Chalice are streaming this tournament. Several million people watch the two of them alone.

G2.IG lost to LGD Gaming in the Semi Final. They will play a 3rd place decider match against BOOM Esports
