Gaimin Gladiators and Spirit were the first to reach the playoffs. Results of the third day of PGL Wallachia S5
The third day of the group stage of PGL Wallachia Season 5 has ended. As a result, Gaimin Gladiators and Team Spirit advanced to the playoffs, while AVULUS and Virtus.pro were eliminated from the tournament.
The day began with a crushing victory of BetBoom Team over Xtreme Gaming.
The decisive moment of the second map was Song of Siren by Kataomi`, which allowed to repel the attack of Xtreme Gaming with Smoke of Deceit and kill four heroes:
Wildcard Gaming showed promise as they managed to take one map from Team Spirit and defeated the strongest South American team at the moment, Heroic. However, in the match against Team Tidebound they were powerless.
The next game for Parker and his team turned out to be a failure.
Neither the unusual pick of Axe for Puppey on the first map, nor the pick of Shadow Fiend for PiPi, who has a 71% WR and 11 consecutive wins on the hero in the pro scene, on the second map allowed them to get close to victory. The match ended with a Rampage for Crystallis:
Heroic defeated the outsiders AVULUS with a score of 2-0, sending them home.
Gaimin Gladiators proved to be stronger than Aurora and advanced to the playoffs. Quinn played both games perfectly on signature heroes, finishing them with scores of 10/0/14 and 11/1/14.
Virtus.pro followed AVULUS and logically left the tournament. Their principled confrontation with Nigma Galaxy, whom they had already lost to during The International 2025: Western Europe Closed Qualifier and from whom they took a quota for Esports World Cup 2025, ended in defeat. On the last map, V-Tune chose Anti-Mage for himself, which he built through Radiance, but could not fully realize it and lead the team to victory.
The day ended with an incredible comeback by Team Spirit in the match against Natus Vincere. Everything was decided on the third map when the Serbian team managed to regain a 20k gold advantage and defend against megacreeps. Their Throne had only 90 hit points when they managed to fend off. Natus Vincere managed to kill Yatoro on their base, but his Divine of Rapier was picked up by rue, so the team managed to finish the game even without a carry. Thus, Team Spirit also advanced to the playoffs.
PGL Wallachia Season 5 takes place from June 21 to 29 in Bucharest, Romania. 16 teams are competing for a prize pool of 1 million dollars.
