Intrigues for the final week of the DPC Summer Tour
The DPC Regional Leagues Summer Tour has almost ended. Some teams have already finished playing, while others still have a few games to play. Some of them could have a significant impact on the final standings. Let's take a look at the main intrigues of the last week.
Europe
In the European region, we already know the names of the 2 teams to go to PGL Arlington Major 2022 — OG and Tundra Esports. But 2 more slots will go to Entity, Team Liquid, or Team Secret.
Everything is simple for Entity. The team has already completed the tour and is waiting for the results of the remaining matches. Team Liquid will face OG, and the team needs a victory in this match. That way Team Liquid can guarantee itself an invitation to the major. If it fails, it can only hope to defeat Team Secret in their last match. If that doesn't happen, all 3 teams will face off in tie-breaks.
China
The massive tie-break is looming in China. After the decisive matches are over, 5 teams at once may have 4-3 stats: Team Aster, Xtreme Gaming, Aster.Aries, PSG.LGD and Vici Gaming. Since Royal Never Give Up has already guaranteed itself an invitation to the major, the teams will have to play each other for the remaining 3 slots.
Eastern Europe
In contrast to the previous 2 regions, nothing is known in the EEU until the very end. At the moment, none of the teams is guaranteed a slot in PGL Arlington Major 2022. In the EEU region, there are 3 invitations, and the contenders are Natus Vincere, Outsiders, Team Spirit and BetBoom Team. If Natus Vincere and Outsiders are enough to beat the weaker opponents, then the confrontation between Team Spirit and BetBoom Team is the crown jewel of the tour. Both teams show an incredible level of play, but it seems like only one can pass to the major.
South Asia
The undisputed leader in Southeast Asia, BOOM Esports, has once again proved that it simply has no equal in the region. It has already secured a slot at PGL Arlington Major. The other 2 are drawn between Talon Esports, Fnatic, RSG, and T1.
The second intrigue is who will keep the slot in the Upper Division? In the final week, Team SMG and Nigma Galaxy SEA will meet in a head-to-head showdown. If Team SMG wins, it remains in the Upper Division, and if it loses, the teams have a tie-break for the right to keep the slot.
North America
The surprise for most analysts was the Nouns' performance in the DPC Summer Tour. The team lost only one game against Quincy Crew and has 5-1 stats. Evil Geniuses has the same score. They are the ones who will be competing for the invitation to the championship in Arlington. All they need to do is win their last match and wait for the outcome of their opponents.
South America
As with the entire competitive season, there are only 3 strong teams in South America — beastcoast, Thunder Awaken, and Infamous. It's among them that 2 invitations to the major are drawn. The first participant will be known after the outcome of the match between beastcoast and Thunder Awaken, but to determine another one may well wait for tie-breaks.
