On the eve of The International 10, Valve released patch 7.30 in the Dota 2 client. Traditionally, it changes the balance of items and heroes, and general gameplay aspects. You can find a complete change list on the official website of the game (Patch 7.30). In this article, we have collected the key changes.

A new hero, Dawnbreaker, has not been added to Captains Mode with this patch, and it still cannot be used in competitive matches.

Main changes:

  • Second Roshan no longer drops cheese
  • Neutral Creeps now drop 5 neutral items per tier
  • Captain's Mode second pick phase is changed from Dire/Radiant/Dire/Radiant to Dire/Radiant/Radiant/Dire (assuming Radiant is first to pick)
  • Multiple Critical Strike procs are now rolled from strongest to weakest and will stop rolling once a proc occurs (this results in the same DPS but is less likely to have multiple crits in a row or multiple attacks without a crit.)
  • Cooldown Percentage Reduction no longer stacks (Sources of flat cooldown reduction still stack)
Increased HP Regen of all heroes with 0 HP Regen to 0.25
  • Water Rune healing reduced from 80HP to 40HP

Key heroes changes

Anti-Mage

One of the most unpopular carry heroes of the last patch, Anti-Mage, got a strong buff. Blink now has 3 charges, and Counterspell has become much stronger. In addition, the changes to the talents greatly increase the mobility of the hero. In the previous patch, Anti-Mage was only used in 115 official matches.

Bounty Hunter

Another unpopular hero that was used in only 39 maps, Bounty Hunter, has been strengthened. So, Shuriken Toss got a strong late-game buff, and the Track ability now increases ground vision and the move speed to allies at the expense of talents.

At first glance, these changes seem useful and allow Bounty Hunter to return to the meta.

Luna

This patch weakened one of the most popular carries of the last patch, Luna. The changes primarily concern the weakening of the hero with Aghanim's Shard, and the Moon Glaives passive ability.

Shadow Fiend

One of the most unpopular midlane heroes of the last patch, Shadow Fiend, got a significant buff. Aghanim's Shard now gives the hero a crit every 3 seconds, and level 20 talent extends the effects of Requiem Fear up to 3.3 seconds. On paper, it looks like the hero has an excellent chance to regain his popularity.

Tinker

For the last 2 patches, Tinker has received no boosts over the previous two patches and has been at the bottom of the meta in official matches and matchmaking. Apparently, with the release of patch 7.30, Valve decided to resuscitate him.

The hero got a free analog of Boots of Travel due to the new Keen Conveyance ability. Defense Matrix and March of the Machines abilities were rotated: now the second opens with purchasing Aghanim's Shard. Also, Laser damages the area and blinds the enemy with the level 10 talent for 2 seconds longer.
