Team Liquid Sweep PARIVISION With a Stand-In To Win FISSURE Universe 5
Despite iNSaNiA's continued absence, Team Liquid yet another trophy to their cabinet, this time with a comfortable win at FISSURE Universe: Episode 5.
Yesterday, Team Liquid already defeated PARIVISION 2-0 in the Upper Bracket Final to secure the first Grand Final slot. As a result, No[o]ne- and the crew were forced to take on Aurora in the Lower Bracket Final.
Game 2 of the series was particularly entertaining. Aurora looked like they had the game in the bag, as PARIVISION were forced to hold the throne in a 3v5. While Nightfall’s Sven was focusing down Satanic’s Medusa, 9Class made the genius play to feed him Greater Healing Lotuses with his courier while dead. This led to Satanic surviving the burst and eventually winning the game and series.
Unfortunately, it seemed like the Eastern European squad ran out of steam during the Grand Final against Team Liquid. PARIVISION showed promise in the first game, claiming a 6,000 net worth lead at the 22-minute mark. However, miCKe’s Terrorblade was farming up a storm and eventually carried the game due to the lack of answers from PARIVISION’s side.
Team Liquid carried their momentum and easily won the second map, winning in only 25 minutes. Though there wasn’t much action in the game, Dukalis’ all-chat made things a little bit interesting, typing “u gonna loose 3-2, Chill.”
Though PARIVISION looked like they'd stabilized in the third, Dukalis’ words came back to bite, as Team Liquid still won the series with a clean sweep. The support player still stood firmly and doubled down with the all-chat while the throne was blowing up.
Regardless, Team Liquid won the event after defeating PARIVISION in five straight maps with Tobi as a stand-in. This victory nets them a respectable $125,000.
FISSURE Universe: Episode 5 was held from July 1 to 4 in an online format. 10 participants competed for a share of $250,000.
