The BetBoom Team Pulled Off An Insania Moment, But Still Won 2-1 Against OG

The Eastern European squad has won their Upper Bracket match against OG in ESL One Birmingham 2024. On the second map, the BetBoom Team made a drafting error.

The first map was an easy victory for the bookmakers, only requiring 35 minutes to end. gpk~ had a relatively free Keeper of the Light game, going 9/1/10.

In the drafting stage of the second map, the BetBoom Team accidentally last-picked Lifestealer instead of banning it because they ran out of reserve time. This incident is similar to iNSaNiA’s Gyrocopter pick at The International while he was representing the Alliance jersey.

As a result, MieRo had to play Lifestealer in the off lane. The BetBoom Team had a confident start to the map, but OG eventually played great Dota, showing good coordination to take the lead. Despite another near-flawless performance from gpk~’s Keeper of the Light, who went 11/1/7, the third position Lifestealer could not provide the BetBoom Team with enough steam to win.

OG surprised fans with a carry Kunkka pick for Timado, something yuragi used to play when he was on the team. The Western European squad had an excellent start to the game, holding a net worth advantage. However, their lineup did not scale as well as the BetBoom Team’s did. After delaying the game, Nightfall became unkillable, sealing the game and series 2-1.

The BetBoom Team advanced in the Upper Bracket and will play against their former teammate, Pure in Tundra Esports.
