The favorites to qualify to The International 2024 from the Eastern European region faced an early elimination from the qualifiers. After making changes to the roster, Virtus.pro was eliminated after losing to two inferior teams.

In the opening match of the qualifiers, Virtus.pro took on  9Pandas. A few months back, Virtus.pro acquired Antares and replaced Sayuw in the roster. After being removed, Sayuw made his way to 9Pandas, where the two position four players essentially swapped teams.

The matchup between former teammates ended in a huge upset in favor of  9Pandas, stomping the series 2-0. Both maps were not even close, as Virtus.pro only managed to get 16 total kills throughout two games. This result meant Virtus.pro was knocked down to the Lower Bracket.

The first round of the Lower Bracket was an easy win for Virtus.pro, as they could quickly dispose of One Move in a fast 2-0 series.

Virtus.pro’s next opponent was the L1ga Team, who wasn’t even fielding their primary player, RAMZES666, who formed the roster in the first place. Even though Virtus.pro was heavily favored in the series, they still crashed out after a 0-2 loss.

The first game of the series was dominated by the L1ga Team, with V1olent’s Chaos Knight going 15/0/4. The second was much closer, as it was a back-and-forth 68 minute game. Despite holding a 20,000 net worth lead, Virtus.pro let the game slip out of their hands and lost the series.

After losing two matches in the double-elimination bracket, Virtus.pro crashed out of the Eastern European qualifiers and will not attend TI. It might be worth noting that Virtus.pro’s 21-year-old offlaner, Noticed, recently got married.

Regardless, only six teams remain in the Eastern European qualifiers, and there are some names you wouldn’t have expected to make it this far. With only one slot up for grabs, a new contender will appear in Dota 2’s biggest stage.
