Elite League 2024 Schedule and Format

The Elite League event will run from March 31 to April 15, but will be divided into three stages:

Swiss Stage (1st Group Stage) - March 31 - April 4

The 1st Group Stage will feature 16 teams and use a new Group Stage format, the Swiss system, commonly used in the Counter-Strike Major tournaments.

  • All matches are Best of 3.

  • Top 8 teams advance to the 2nd Group Stage.

  • Bottom 8 teams will be eliminated.

  • Win 3 matches to qualify, lose 3 matches to be eliminated; whichever comes first.

Round-robin Stage (2nd Group Stage) - April 5 - April 10

The 2nd Group Stage will feature 16 teams, 8 of which were directly invited, with the other 8 coming from the first Group Stage. This phase will use the common Round-robin format Dota 2 tournaments usually use.

  • 16 teams will be divided into 2 groups.

  • All matches are Best of 2.

  • Top 2 teams from each group will advance to the Upper Bracket of the Playoffs.

  • 3-4th place teams from each group will advance to the Lower Bracket of the Playoffs.

  • Bottom 4 teams will be eliminated.

Playoffs Stage - April 12 - April 14

The Playoffs Stage will feature 8 teams, 4 in the Upper Bracket and 4 in the Lower Bracket.

  • Will use the classic double-elimination bracket.

  • All matches are Best of 3, except the Grand Final, which is Best of 5.

The Elite League is a two-week tournament that will feature more teams than usual. We’ll get to see faces such as Puppey and KuroKy prove if they have still got it in them. This will be the last big event before ESL One Birmingham 2024.
