Pure Wins With Carry Hoodwink, Team Liquid Go on 7-0 Streak Against PARIVISION
The second day of the Esports World Cup 2025 has brought forth several interesting storylines. Let’s check out some of the most exciting results of the day.
BetBoom 2-0 Team Falcons
In the first map of the series between BetBoom Team and Team Falcons, the former pulled out a surprising Hoodwink pick for Pure – a hero traditionally played as a support. The surprise pick paid off, as the BetBoom Team were off to a 14,000 net worth lead with Pure leading the charge.
However, a successful high-ground defense from Team Falcons helped them equalize the game. Despite all their efforts, Pure's Hoodwink and gpk~’s Puck were too slippery, and Team Falcons couldn’t pin them down and lost the game.
The second game was another back-and-forth affair, with the BetBoom Team becoming the first team to mount a significant lead. However, they continued to struggle closing out games, as Team Falcons found a way back into the game to make things interesting. Still, the BetBoom Team found cleaner jumps in the late-game fights to win the series 2-0.
Tundra Esports 1-1 Aurora
In the first map of this anticipated series, Tundra Esports took a convincing lead to push Aurora to their high-ground. However, Aurora pulled off a successful defense, shifting the entire momentum of the game. The Eastern European squad had the gold lead and were up a lane of Barracks.
In a desperate attempt to salvage the game, Crystallis purchased a Divine Rapier on his Gyrocopter, which paid off. Aurora were caught off guard, with Nightfall and kiyоtaka dying without buybacks. Tundra Esports avoided the throw and stole the first map.
Aurora punched back with a heavy healing and sustain lineup on the second. Once they started grouping up, Aurora started taking control of fights as Tundra Esports didn’t have the damage to burst down enemy heroes. Aurora’s cores only had two combined deaths and kept the series level.
Team Liquid 2-0 PARIVISION
To end the day, we had a FISSURE Universe: Episode 5 Grand Final rematch between Team Liquid and PARIVISION.
The first map was a total stomp in favor of Team Liquid. PARIVISION barely got anything going, and were forced to tap out in only 25 minutes.
Despite getting a good Phantom Lancer pick for Satanic in the second game, Team Liquid simply played better. Nisha’s Void Spirit was being very disruptive in fights, allowing the rest of his team to lock down key targets with ease.
Team Liquid swept the series 2-0, and extend their map streak to 7-0 against PARIVISION.
The Esports World Cup 2025 is a $3,000,000 tournament taking place in Riyadh, Saudi Arabia. 16 teams compete from July 8 to 19.
